La isla [reconocimiento] is a participatory project by the artist Rainer Krause, created in Santiago de Chile, where I have collaborated with sound material from the coasts of Chile and Colombia.
We were recording a drum set at the Laboratory of Musical Informatics and Electroacoustic Music (LIMME) of the Faculty of Music of the National Autonomous University of Mexico with the Italian percussionist Andrea Sorrenti. The Session consisted of the recording of resonant percussions which we recorded with different dynamics and works on the attack in the interpretation.
I had the opportunity to present part of my thesis work that I have been doing as a composer and researcher on the aesthetic implications of the loop in the context of electronic experimental music at the Visiones Sonoras Festival in its 15th edition, in Morelia – Mexico. “Visiones Sonoras”, is an annual festival, which has been held since 2005, under the organization and supervision of the Mexican Center for Music and Sound Arts – CMMAS.
